Coffee Shop Sewage in Canterbury
Coffee Shop Sewage in Canterbury
On one Saturday in February this year we were called out to a serious sewage flood at a coffee shop in Canterbury. This had occurred because they had blocked drains. When drains are blocked, your sewage waste cannot escape efficiently and the result is a sewage flood.
For various reason blocked drains happen often in Canterbury; because of this, we were familiar with the area.
Before we could resolve the problem, we needed to find out what the problem was. We carried out a blockage clearance and then a drainage CCTV survey to find the cause of the problem. When the blockage was identified, the blocked drains were jetted to clear and the area was washed down and sanitized.
One cause of such a blockage can be cracks or breaks in the wall of the drain. On the return visit, the drains were re-lined to prevent them collapsing and to cover the fractures and cracks identified on the cctv survey.
